Karen Radley chats to Daniel Sapanaro founder of Hutch

This city has inspired the greats but what I think is the most beautiful about this city are the people that live in it.

Daniel – tell us about living in beautiful New York City?

This city has inspired the greats but what I think is the most beautiful about this city are the people that live in it.

I love the name Hutch– where does it come from?

Thank you! Hutch is named after my husband. I chose this name because I also wanted something a bit ambiguous and mystery of what you’re going to get.

When did you launch Hutch?

I started Hutch in 2010 and shipped my first collection in the spring of 2011.

Designing the Hutch collection  - how are you inspired?

There are always so many points of inspiration for each collection. Color is the key for every season. I am an avid art collector and love pop culture too! But my greatest muse is my customers. I design for every woman and seeing our designs, wither it be in tagged photo on Instagram or even on the streets of NYC, I am constantly inspired.

Is there a signature look for Hutch?

Hutch is designed to be timeless over trend driven. Our pieces are created in thought with the use of conceptual prints, bright colors, and feminine tailoring.

Who would you say is your Hutch customer?

She’s ageless. Often, we dress mother & daughter alike. There is something for everyone.

If a woman was to own just one item from your collection - which one would you suggest and why?

Our wrap dresses! Wrap dresses are now signature in every collection in a myriad of silhouette variations. The great thing about our wrap dresses is they are universal and so easy to wear. The adjustability of the wrap dress is stress-free and can instantly elevate your day-to-day wardrobe.

Will this be the first time you are showing at Scoop?

Yes!! We are beyond excited to show our newest collection at Scoop!

Do you have any words of positivity to share with our Scoop readers?

Say Yes! I truly believe you’ll get more from saying yes then saying no in every situation.
