Tell me about your background:
I grew up between Karachi, London, and New York, and studied Journalism and Law. I started my career in brand and events strategy, working across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. SLATE Body is the culmination of all of that - a love for sensory storytelling, emotional connection, and shaping meaningful experiences.
Concept behind SLATE Body:
After an allergic reaction to a drugstore body wash sent my partner Mo and I on a quest for a better option, we realised there was space to create something more exciting - a collection of body washes that are fun to use, smell amazing, leave out the nasties, pack on the goodies, and give people the freedom to craft their own shower experience. Each bottle comes with a curated playlist to match the mood. We want those few minutes behind the curtain to feel personalised and impactful - so that an underrated daily task can effortlessly become a luxurious, immersive escape.

My current go-to products that get me out the door feeling fresh, without having to do a full face - Refy Brow Tint, Nars Climax Mascara, Huda Beauty Blush Filter in Black Cherry and Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm in Vanilla Beige (it is so deliciously edible)
What’s your signature scent:
Jasmine. It smells like home. And night air in spring.
Who inspires you:
All the women in my family. They’re strong, intelligent and independent magnets who have weathered every storm with grace, and continue to build and nurture communities around them.
Best coffee in London:
I’ve really been enjoying dabbling in matcha these days. Omotesando Koffee in the West End is both authentic and scrumptious.
Museum or art gallery:
Nothing like getting lost in a museum. The gift shop at the end is always my favourite part.
Favourite biscuit:
I’m more of a warm and gooey chocolate chip cookie kind of person. Extra chocolate chips. Extra gooey.
Best summer memory:
New York City in the ’90s. It felt like a postcard.
Favourite body wash in the SLATE Body collection:
I can’t choose between my babies! I genuinely love reaching for different bottles depending on the time of day - but I do personally love softer scents and moisture-rich formulas, so I gravitate towards PLAY and DUSK quite a bit.
