Meet Samuel Lévy Maytek head of sales at Mother Earth

Tell me about Mother Earth bio sneakers:

MoEa (Mother Earth) creates innovative, eco-friendly sneakers crafted from plant-based materials like apple, corn, pineapple, and cactus fabrics. Since our launch in 2021, we've focused on designing stylish, sustainable footwear that blends ethics with high quality. Our sneakers are vegan, made in Portugal, and produced with a strong commitment to minimizing environmental impact. We are actively reducing our carbon footprint by integrating circular design principles, ensuring our products contribute to a more sustainable future.

Why is sustainability so important to you:

Sustainability matters to me because we have to preserve resources for future generations, striking a balance between progress and responsibility. However, I believe sustainability shouldn't be viewed as a limitation on innovation, but rather as an essential driver of growth and advancement.

Tell me about Paris neighbourhood:

Our office is located in Strasbourg-Saint-Denis, one of the busiest areas in Paris. We’re at the crossroads of Paris X—a vibrant, multicultural neighbourhood that draws artists, startups, street vendors, tourists, and young families alike—and Le Sentier, Paris’s historic textile and garment district. The energy here creates a unique atmosphere, filled with diverse influences and ideas from all around. It’s a place where creativity and innovation thrive side by side. And most important of all, there’s always a nice place to eat in the area.

Favourite place for brunch:

If you’re looking for a 100% vegan option, you should try Faubourg Daimant. If you’re feeling fancy, have a look at the BRACH.

Best coffee in Paris:

On sunny days, any café terrace will do. When it’s raining, an espresso from the coffee machine in the middle of our showroom. We practically treat that machine like a full-time team member of staff.

Favourite gallery or museum:

Paris is like a living gallery, but if I had to choose just one spot, it would be La Fondation Vuitton.

Favourite place to shop:

Paris is full of brocantes, perfect for finding a unique vintage chair. However, if we’re talking about clothing, WeDressFair and Altermundi are two solid options.

Favourite Park:

Parc des Prince (PSG’s stadium) haha!

Favourite food market:

El Mercat de San Antoni, but it’s in Barcelona. ;)

Your sanctuary in your neighbourhood:

Sables, a restaurant in my street. We've become good friends with the chef.

This season I’m loving from MoEa collection:

The GEN9. This pair combines ultra-comfort with a retro vibe, and for the first time, we’ve crafted a suede alternative using plant waste—specifically, tea. It’s like wearing tea time on your feet!
